As part of the “Living Income Project”, Fairtrade and Rewe have developed and launched the “Very Fair” chocolate line. The goal: cocoa farmers receive a premium on the market price of cocoa and thus earn living income wages.
Impact Diaries is a campaign by Fairtrade Germany about the Living Income Project, in which participating farmers record short video diaries, video diaries that report on the change that the Living Income Project in Ghana has had for those cocoa farmer families whose cocoa beans are in the Very Fair chocolate.
To kick off the campaign and empower the farmers to record their stories with a smartphone, a team from Fairtrade and the agency Altitude travelled to Ghana in April 2021 and organised a workshop with ten members of the Fanteakwa cooperative, along with Youtuber Matthew Larbi Yartey and marketing specialist Meli Mansu from Accra.
The team was accompanied by Fairpicture photographer Nipah Dennis, who documented the workshop and film production and produced the photography for the accompanying campaign.
